Women who talk

To mark International Women’s Day, Flow at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai’s pioneering healthy eating hub, is bringing together a panel of five incredible, trailblazing women from different industries through a live broadcast.

The discussion, called Meet The Female Powerhouses, takes place between 4-5pm on Monday, March 8, and is themed around this year’s United Nation’s theme to discuss women in leadership, applauding the tremendous efforts in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The session will outline the importance of women at the front line of the global crisis, as health care workers, educators, innovators, and community organisers.

With #Next50years being the wider UAE holistic focus, the motivational panel of guest speakers consists Emily Ellington, Head of Inclusion at GEMS Education; Heather Harries, founder of the Stop and Help initiative, a volunteer-run kindness exchange platform; Mariam Al Samadi (pictured below), founder of DXBWomen, supporting female-led businesses during the pandemic; and Carolyn Yaffe, a psychotherapist at Medcare Camali Mental Health Clinic.

The panel discussion will be broadcast live on the Flow Instagram page and will last for 45 minutes, followed by a Q&A session. Popular Afghan-Australian radio presenter Maz Hakim will lead and moderate the session, which will also touch on gender equality and becoming role models for society.

Tune in to Meet The Female Powerhouses from 4-5pm on Instagram at @flowdubai on Monday, March 8, 2021.

Women who relax

Gather the girls for a fun-filled evening celebrating vegan food and fabulous spa offers as Anantara Eastern Mangroves Abu Dhabi Hotel celebrates International Women’s Day. Spoil a special lady in your life, or treat yourself, with a unique night of vegan Thai food. Ladies can join any night in March and enjoy a specially-curated menu for Dhs155 per person from 7-11pm daily. The four-course dinner highlights the renowned flavours of Thailand, with an emphasis on organic vegetables and authentic spice blends. Enjoy the fresh spiciness of yum som-o, the sour sweetness of tom yum pak, and pad Thai pak, a meat-free version of Thailand's most famous dish.

If the spa is more your thing, celebrate International Woman's Day with a blissful 60-minute treatment that relaxes as it revives. Start with a refreshing foot ritual, then replenish moisture with a hydrating foot wrap. Continue with a hot-stone massage that helps release muscle tension in the back, while an express facial completes the treatment on a radiant note. The package is available for women only and is priced Dhs550. The offer is available daily during the month of March from 10am until 11pm.
