Commit to move for 30 minutes for 30 days and feel great doing it

Introduced as a way to get the entire city moving, the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) is an initiative worth taking part in.

The brainchild of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, DFC is the perfect way to get motivated this month and adopt an active and healthy lifestyle. The idea is to commit to 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days, from October 30 to November 28, 2020. It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you move!

There’s an action-packed calendar of virtual and physical sessions taking place across the emirate, in a bid to make fitness accessible and easy for all. This year's program will have the highest standards of safety precautions and social distancing measures in place to ensure Dubai's residents and visitors can stay connected and safe.

Here are three ways to get involved

1 The Dubai Run: November 27

Be part of the city’s biggest fun run; choose your distance, choose your location, choose your start time and choose your running partners

In partnership with Dubai Cares, supporting fundraising for campaign ‘Education Uninterrupted’, The Dubai Run is an easy way to get involved. There are even free, 28-day training programmes, available on the Dubai Run website, by coaches and athletes from around the world. It is going to be the biggest citywide fun run for residents and visitors, with the entire city a personalised running track for all ages, abilities and fitness levels on the same day.

Youngsters, teenagers, families, older residents and people of determination are invited to celebrate their new personal best with the Dubai Run - be it the first, fastest or farthest stretch. Registration is now open on www.dubairun.com

2 Free city sightseeing runs

Arabian Adventures, part of The Emirates Group, and sports brand ASICS have joined the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) to offer free, guided sightseeing runs across the city from October 30 to November 28. The runs offer a unique experience for all fitness levels and abilities, welcoming participants for an on-foot perspective of iconic sights and landmarks. Runners can also learn new skills and techniques from the "ASICS FrontRunners" team, who will lead selected sessions each day. You can choose from three different routes with varying difficulty levels around the city. The advanced 10km beach run will take participants along the Kite Beach taking in views of the Burj al Arab, while the moderate 5km scenic run will take place around the Burj Lake in Downtown Dubai. Those who can't join any of the guided runs or are just getting started on their fitness journey can choose to do an exciting 3km 'treasure hunt' style quest in the Dubai Creek area by completing a self-guided run with the Questo city explorer mobile game. All runs are free but registration is required at arabianadventures.com
