Mark 51 momentous years of the United Arab Emirates
Fireworks, film and musical performances are just a few of the ways you can celebrate UAE National Day this year on December 2.
But the fun doesn't stop there. Check out the long list of things to do at Visit Dubai. But here are our top three picks.
Celebration fireworks
From the traditional creek-side waters of Al Seef to the all-new and shiny Bluewaters, fireworks will light up the UAE this National Day.
Immerse yourself in the UAE’s cultural heritage at Al Seef on the banks of Dubai’s historic creek with Arabian hospitality, parades, live shows, kids workshops and – of course – fireworks, which will take place at 8pm.
Or, if you prefer sticking to the other end of town, Bluewaters, along with JBR The Walk will also host displays on Friday, December 2 from 8pm. The Pointe, The Palm Jumeirah will showcase their firework show from 9pm, meaning you can catch both if you're quick.
Live music
Enjoy show-stopping concerts by top stars this UAE National Day. Leading the celebrations on December 2 are Eida Al Menhali and Dalia Mubarak. They perform at Al Wasl Plaza, Expo City Dubai and tickets are available at Visit Dubai.
Guy Manoukin returns to Dubai on December 9. The Lebanese-Armenian singer will perform live at Dubai Opera in a set featuring brand new releases as well as familiar singalong classics.
Sticking with Dubai Opera, Palestinian brothers Samir, Wissam and Adnan, collectively known as Le Trio Joubran, make their Dubai debut on December 11. The group comes from a family of oud makers and players so expect a night of traditional tunes.
one of the most celebrated Sufi singers in the world Abida Parveen, is back in the UAE for a highly-anticipated showcase on December 9. The Queen of Qawwali will take to the stage at the Coca-Cola Arena and ticket are selling fast so don't miss out.
Lego fun
Feel like getting involved with something BIG? Then head to Legoland Dubai this National Day. There are plenty of special activities like building the world's largest UAE Lego Minifigure Flag to honour the country's 51st National Day.
Activities take place from November 25 to December 4 and you can even make a long weekend of it with a family sleepover at the Legoland Hotel.
Those staying at the hotel get free access to the theme park. Bonus!
